Hey, Plainfield residents! It's that time again! The Community Service Team of the New Democrats for Plainfield club will be leading the fall volunteer library grounds clean up this coming Saturday, October 9th, beginning at 10:00 am.* All interested residents are welcome to join as as we beautify the grounds by removing the litter, raking, and and sweeping.
We will meet on the steps outside the library at 9:45 am to clean the areas around our wonderful library--the parking lots at the 8th and 9th Street entrances, respectively, and the rest of the grounds surrounding the building. If enough folks join us, we should have the areas spic-n-span in just a couple of hours!
In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can sign up to be a "Library Champion" and show your support Here is the link to the Plainfield Public Library's new initiative:

Come out and support YOUR library!
All best,
Rebecca
*It's supposed to be a beautiful autumn day, but in case of heavy rain, we will reschedule!

To the anonymous commenter: Your cynicism must make you a really "fun" person to be around. If you knew anything about the kind of work I do, you probably wouldn't have made such an ignorant and hateful comment. Find something positive to do with your life.

I don't have any idea what was said, but will guess that it hit pretty close to home to get this reaction.
By getting into the political scene as you are trying to do, you become public property, everything you do or say is up to public scrutiny . . . under the microscope, so they say.
You want what is best for Plainfield . . . as long as it meets your approval!

Regarding one of the anonymous comments I received:

That's right, Blackdog (whoever you are), you haven't "any idea what was said" and yet you still felt the need to respond? That is quite puzzling to me. However, for your information, yes, homophobic, racist, and sexist statements DO hit pretty close to home for me.I don't have to put up with any homophobic, racist, sexist, or other hateful commentary on MY personal blog. That kind of commentary DOESN'T meet with my "approval," to use your word, and it never will.

A guy walks into a bar with a dachshund under his arm. The dog is wearing a Jets jersey helmet and is holding Jets pom poms.

The bartender says,"Hey! No pets allowed in here! You'll have to leave!"

The man begs, "Look I'm desperate. We're both big fans, my TV is broken, and this is the only place we can see the game!"

After securing a promise that the dog will behave and warning him that if there is any trouble they will be thrown out, the bartender relents and allows them to stay in the bar and watch the game.

The game begins with the Jets receiving a kickoff. They march down field stop at the 30,and kick a field goal. With that the dog jumps up on the bar and begins walking up and down the bar giving everyone a high-five.

The bartender says,"Wow that is the most amazing thing I've ever seen! What does the dog do if they score a touchdown?"

"I don't know," replies the owner, "I've only had him for four years."
